Prompt Engineering Diff Online

Online Diff Checker

A free, browser-based diff tool: paste two texts, get a colored diff and a change count. Nothing installed, nothing uploaded.

Overview

A diff checker should be instant and private — no install, no account, no upload. This loads two short lists and shows the classic diff output: added lines, removed lines, and what stayed, with a mechanical count. Everything runs in your browser. It is the plain, reliable online diff — paste, compare, read — that shows what changed and leaves the interpretation, as always, to you.

FAQ

How does a line-by-line diff show added and removed lines?

In Line mode, the report splits whole lines into ADDED CONTENT and REMOVED CONTENT blocks. This sample lists '+ Blueberries', '+ Figs', '+ Grapes' as added and '- Bananas', '- Elderberries' as removed, with MODIFIED CONTENT reading '(no in-line modified content)' — because line mode treats each line as fully added or fully removed rather than editing within it.

Is anything uploaded when I compare two texts online?

Nothing is uploaded — the comparison runs in your browser. You paste two texts and get the colored diff and the mechanical count ('Lines: 3 added, 2 removed, 0 changed') locally, no install and no account. The NOTE is candid that this is a mechanical diff showing what changed, not what it means or which text is better.
